Spirit of India is a book with selection of questions put to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam during and after his tenure as the President of India. He has answered for the most interesting, intellectual to naive and irreverent questions in a simplistic way. 
A man with positive thoughts, who inculcated the same to the entire nation, addresses all the concerns, aspirations and dreams of today's young India. From education, science, nation building, corruption, economic imbalance, communal hatred, divisive politics, national security, system failure to his personal interest he answers all our questions. Not a single answer passes a discouragement or negative thoughts to the questioner. 
His critics often question about his concern for environment and say a missile scientist is a destroyer for the environment and nations peace, he has answered to all those questions. 
Righteousness, Dream, Hard-work, Persevere, Sweat, Creativity, Inquisitive, Acquiring Knowledge are the words you can find in his answers consistently.
The last edition of this book is eight years ago (2010), but still most of the questions are apt even today. A must have book for every Indian Youth.

நேர்மறை எண்ணங்களை மாணவர்களுக்கும் இளைஞர்களுக்கும் தன் பேச்சாலும் எழுத்துக்களாலும் புகுத்தி நல்வழிப்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கும் அய்யா வெ.இறையன்பு அவர்கள் துரோகச் சுவடுகள் என்ற எதிர்மறை தலைப்பில் இந்த புத்தகத்தை எழுதியுள்ளார்.  

மனிதர்களின் சுயநலம், பேராசையால் பிறக்கும் துரோகம் என்ற அரக்கன் எவரையும் விட்டதில்லை. மாபெரும் பேரரசுகள், வீரர்கள், மகான்கள், பெருந்தலைவர்கள், சாதாரண மனிதர்கள் வரை அனைவரும் இந்த துரோகத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர் என்பதனை இதிகாசக் கதைகள், புராணக் கதைகள், மகான்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சிகள், வரலாற்றுச் சம்பவங்கள், நிகழ்காலச் சம்பவங்கள், தன் நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் சகப்பணியாளர்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் நடந்தவை, தன் வாழ்க்கையில் நடந்தவை என பல்வேறு துரோகச் சம்பவங்களை கட்டுரை வடிவில் நமக்கு கொடுத்துயிருக்கிறார். துரோகங்களை வகைப்படுத்தி அதற்கேற்றாற் போல் கதைகளையும் சம்பவங்களையும் கொடுத்திருப்பது ஆசிரியரின் தனித்துவம். 

மனித வரலாறே துரோகங்களின் ரத்தத்தால் எழுதப் பட்டவை தான், துரோகத்தால் பாதிக்கப் பட்டவர்களும் அதற்க்கு ஒரு காரணம், மற்றவர்கள் மீது அவர்கள் வைக்கும் அதீத நம்பிக்கையே அவர்களுக்கு வினையாகிறது என்கிறார் ஆசிரியர். 

துரோகம் செய்தவனை காலம் வாழ விட்டதில்லை விடவும் போவதில்லை என்பது ஆறுதல். இந்த அவசர இயந்திர உலகத்தில் ஒருவரை மிதித்து மற்றொருவர் முந்தும் காலத்தில் துரோகத்தில் இருந்து நம்மை முன்னெச்சரிக்கையாக வைத்துக்கொள்ள உதவும் புத்தகம் துரோகச் சுவடுகள்.
